Project Name: Cowpens NB – Replace Roof & Install Photovoltaic System

Project Description: The project included the design and rebuild of the roof which had structural issues and needed a rebuild so a new metal roof was installed where the corners were reframed, RTU replaced, Snow guards put in place and insulation laid throughout the entire building for EnergyStar Energy Efficiency. Since this project is considered the first revolutionary roofing system of the southeast, a Photovoltaic system was added to make this building energy efficient with its grid-tied panels for Electrical Cooling & Heating capabilities, electrical upgrades, a Lithium Ferro Phosphate Battery backup system to maintain optimal conditions in both winter & summer which will result in ultimate savings to the National Park Service for years to come.
